It was set up by the Government of Punjab under The Punjab State Board of Technical Education and Industrial Training 1992 Act. Preceding the foundation of The Punjab State Board of Technical Education and Industrial Training, the Board was working as a wing under the Directorate, Technical Education and Industrial Training (Punjab) taking care of both the examination and regulatory parts of various Polytechnics.
