The United Progressive Alliance’s one of the best schemes that come under aadhaar named by LPG subsidy was launched in 20 districts effectively from June 1. Around 63 lakh families were benefitted from 20 different districts. Under the LPG subsidy project the subsidy amount was directly transferred into aadhaar linked bank account of the beneficiary. Government aims to cover as many as districts before the next Lok Sabha elections that are going to held in 2014. The Petroleum Minister Mr. Veerappa Moily said that within the first phase of implementation of the LPG subsidy scheme, 72 districts are to be covered within 2 months.
Aadhaar LPGOil companies are also co-operating with the government to implement the scheme in other parts of the country. All the beneficiaries who are using this scheme have been credited a sum of Rs. 435 in advance in their bank accounts from June 1.
As per the information provided by Unique Identification Authority Of India the government aims to spend an amount of Rs 3000 crore in the first year in 20 districts and aims to lower the level of black marketing through the implementation of this scheme.
All the people who want to subscribe to this scheme were asked to link their aadhar cards with their bank accounts within 2 weeks of the launching of the service, and the people who didn’t linked their aadhar cards with their bank accounts were not provided any benefit from the scheme. The government of all these 20 districts have made compulsory for people to obtain their aadhaar cards for getting a new LPG connection. The people who haven’t made their aadhaar cards and also linked them with bank accounts won’t be getting LPG subsidized cylinders.
As per the predictions made by government it has been estimated that with the help of this scheme a sum of Rs 10000 crore can be saved as LPG subsidy amount in a year. The companies with be allotted with unique e mail address so that problems of the consumers can be addressed. The government aims to provide the benefited amount generated from the scheme amount only to genuine customers.
