2 Phases of Enrolment in Dehradun

In the Dehradun district of Uttarakhand, enrolment for UID based Aadhaar card is soon going to begin. In this district, the enrollment process is supposed to be done in 2 phases in the 30 wards. It is being estimated that the whole enrolment process can be completed within 15 days. Aadhaar card is supposed to serve the purpose of both the address proof as well as the proof of identity of its holder. The Anganwadi assistants at each ward will be having the enrolment forms.

Sources from the Municipal Corporation of Haridwar have informed that all the preparations for enrolment have been completed here and added that the process of enrolment will definitely be completed before the next municipal elections. In the Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, the registration process is still going on smoothly. Sandeep Kadam, the District Collector provided this piece of information to the people. He added that the enrolment will be carried out in the district headquarters on all weekdays except for Wednesday.

Aadhaar enrolment in Chamba was supposed to be finished months ago but the process was extended for the convenience of people. For this purpose, enrollment has also been facilitated at the headquarters of Zonal Development. He further said that people were finding the process of enrolment simple and has also urged them to kindly bring their identity proofs and residential address proof while coming to the registration centres.

In case an individual does not have any identity proof, then he/ she can also take assistance from someone who has already received their UID cards. These card holders will act as guarantors here. While talking to the people, he also added that this 12 digit unique identification number can be obtained free of cost and it is valid for an entire lifetime.

This card will be accepted throughout the country for any identification purposes. Those individuals who have already enrolled but have not received their Aadhaar cards can now download e- Aadhaar from their official website. Alternatively, they can visit the Sugam centre and take help from the department officials. In this case, they must carry their acknowledgement slips for reference purposes.
