Copies of e- Aadhaar are Acceptable: Goa CM

While states like Delhi and Andhra Pradesh have already made Aadhaar cards mandatory for accessing a number of schemes and welfare services in their provinces, now the Goa government has also decided to follow their footsteps by making it compulsory for accessing various schemes in the state. Majority of people in the state have not received their cards yet and this announcement on the part of Mr. Manohar Gopalkrishna Prabhu Parrikar, the Chief Minister of Goa has definitely relieved the people from their anxieties as well as frustration.

He added in his speech that all those individuals who have not received their Aadhaar cards via post can now simply download their e- Aadhaar from the official website of the UIDAI. The CM further added that during the first three months of the enforcement of the Aadhaar based schemes, softness may be maintained to a certain level and after that it will be made mandatory throughout the state.

In the Jhajjar district of Haryana, the process of enrolment has already begun in the branches of Bank of Baroda. The bank manager of this bank has informed that special space has been provided for setting up enrolment centre within the bank premises. Initially the enrolment process is supposed to be carried out for 15 consecutive days. Only after seeing the response of the people, it will be decided if there is need to extend the process further or not.

The councillor of ward 2, Jay Singh here said that enrolment process is being carried out smoothly in the entire district. Since Aadhaar card is of great significance for an individual’s identity, he has taken steps to organise camps at the Bank of Baroda premises. This will ensure that people do not have to face any difficulties in locating the enrolment camp. He further added that any citizen of India can come to this centre for getting enrolled for their UID numbers. He has urged people to become a part of this scheme as soon as possible.
